Both of our boys had pacifiers that we called bubbi. Our babysitter did a great job weaning the boys from their bubbies. We, the parents, did not do so well. With Cole he was almost 2 1/2 when we told him if he would give up the bubbi, we would let him fly to Dallas to see Aunt Mac and Uncle Cody. We bought our plane tickets and hoped for the best. Cole walked to the gate, gave his bubbi one more big suck, and through it in the trash. He never asked for it again.
With Jaxon we got a little smarter and a little cheaper. We cut a little bit of his pacifier away every day. Every night we would tell him that he was sucking the bubbi away. That child sucked the whole thing away. It would not stay in his mouth any more.
Parenting...just trial and error!
